If you're an upcoming graduate looking to book a senior session, here are some tips to help ensure you have a fantastic experience. As a senior photographer, I had the privilege of capturing so many incredible moments in 2024. Each session was unique, and I loved working with every senior to bring their vision to life. While I could share countless images, I’ve narrowed it down to a few of my favorites to give you a sense of the possibilities for your session.

Choose a Location That Tells Your Story
Think about places that hold special meaning to you—whether it's your favorite park, a downtown area with lots of character, or a spot tied to your hobbies or interests. Incorporating these personal elements will make your session feel unique and authentic. One standout session was a skating session at a warehouse in downtown Raleigh. The energy was electric, and the urban setting created the perfect contrast for bold, edgy shots.
Another unforgettable moment was a session inspired by Taylor Swift’s Folklore album, set against the dreamy backdrop of a farm. The soft, ethereal vibe of the photos captured the perfect blend of nature and nostalgia.
Throughout the year, I had the opportunity to shoot across various locations, from Raleigh to Durham and Holly Springs, each area offering something special. Whether it was the lush greenery of a farm or the vibrant city scene, each backdrop added a unique flavor to every session.
Bring Items That Reflect Your Personality
Whether it’s a musical instrument, sports gear, art supplies, or even your favorite book, meaningful items can make your photos more distinctive. They help tell the story of who you are at this exciting stage of life.
Plan for Golden Hour Lighting
Schedule your session during golden hour—the hour after sunrise or before sunset—for dramatic light. This creates a dreamy atmosphere, making your photos feel extra magical and ensuring your portraits stand out.
I'm so grateful to have worked with such a diverse group of seniors this past year. Your creativity and spirit made each session memorable, and I’m beyond excited to share these highlights with you! Stay tuned for more as I continue to capture senior moments in 2025!
